Tokyo & Osaka Ecpo 2025 took off like a rocket. It filled up so quickly some never had a chance to sign up. An Expo which was once called World’s Fair is an incredible event to experience. There will be over 150 countries representing and coming through with some of the most spectacular architecture for their country’s pavilion. Shown below are France, Italy, Australia all trying to outshine the next.

The Bob Marley Biopic couldn’t have dropped on a better day than today, Valentine’s Day. I was at the matinee in my town this morning in my favorite seat. It was all that and some. Kingsley Ben-Adir was deep into character having been coached in guitar, movements and Jamaican Patois.
The director focused on various notable events that took place in Bob Marley’s life; the 1976 failed assasination attempt 2 days before the Smile Jamaica Concert in Kingston. In an effort to stop the violence, he put on the One Love Peace Concert bridging the gap between the 2 opposing parties: Jamaica Labor Party and the People’s National Party. Also the creation of the EXODUS album while he self-exiled in the UK.
I could certainly feel the LOVE between them in spite of relationship issues. She was wife, mother to those children, member of the band, and confidante.
This movie took me back to my early love for Bob Marley, reggae, and Jamaica as a whole. My time in Kingston in the late 80’s when the house at 56 Hope Road became a museum. I saw the bullet holes in the wall. I remember begging a taxi driver to take me to Trench Town, after he had taken me past Gun Court and to Port Royal. He finally gave in by saying, “I’ve been in Kingston 29 yrs and I do not go to Trench Town but I will take you, take your pictures as we drive through be’caus mi no stop”.
My 3 years of living in Jamaica was quite an experience. One I will always treasure. I sometimes wonder how I ended up with the map of Jamaica on my left thigh. I guess we can say it’s in my DNA.

July 28, 2024 – Kenya Safari – 2 rooms available. We have the entire 5 star tented camp on lock in Masai Mara. Just us, full board, all meals & beverages for 4 nights before moving on to exotic Zanzibar.
Sept 21, 2024 – Oh My Dubai – still a few rooms available. There is so much to do and see. It’s impossible to see it all in a week. Some returning missed Expo City’s fire spitting waterfall where flames turn into a gravity defying waterfall. Some flower lovers missed the Miracle Garden. Someone will celebrate a September birthday at The Pods where they have reimagined Asian classics in a private dining experience. Gordon Ramsay closed Hells Kitchen at Blue Waters Island but he still had Bread Street Kitchen & Bar on the Palm at Atlantis. You will find some of his signature dishes there. Yes, a foodie I am. I will not miss LPM next time (translated La Petite Maison) also in Vegas, London, Miami. A relaxed high end restaurant with a South of France feel serving a mix of southern French & Italian.
We will still have our highlights: Our White Yacht party with DJ Pierre and open bar, Soul Brunch, Desert Safari. We can’t leave out the limitless spa options all over the city, they are amazing. Every room or suite has a spacious balcony; perfect for having breakfast overlooking the city.
Black Paris – March/April 2025 – 2 rooms available. We’ve been doing it since the late 80’s and we give you the best of Paris with everything as black as possible; from our private chauffeurs to the West Indian & West African restaurants. Sipping a cocktail at the African Lounge while watching notable black celebs stream on the big screen is quite relaxing.
